Install the Lango Add-On
Go to the Atlassian Marketplace and install the Lango add-on.
Connect a Translation Provider (optional)
To enable the automatic translations feature, ensure Lango is connected with at least one translation provider (admin permission is required).
Navigate to the Confluence page or blog post you wish to translate and click on the Translations link under the page title to open the Lango Switcher. You can access the Lango Switcher within any Confluence page or blog post.
You need permission to edit the page to change the language settings or translate the page. |
Set the page language.
Open the Lango Switcher and select the Settings button (gear icon) to open the Lango Language Management Panel.
Here, you can adjust all page translation settings. Note that you need permission to edit the page to change language settings or translate it.
You can add or manage translations only from the original content page. |
The automatic translation feature requires connecting to an external provider, such as Google Translate or Deepl. To enable this feature, please refer to our administration configuration guide. |
When you add a translation, Lango creates a new page and links the original content with the translation. These links allow users to easily navigate between available languages and enable editors to monitor and manage translations effectively.
Select Translate with a provider from the available operations to Initiate a Translation.
Select the target language and the provider you want to use for the translation.
Optionally, customize the title of the translated page. You can also automatically translate the title by clicking the translate title button.
Ensure the new page title is unique within the selected space to avoid translation failures. |
Click the add button to place the translation request in the queue. The status can be monitored in the translation panel.
When the translation is ready, its status will change to , and you can switch between languages using the Language Switcher.
| This status identifies the source page |
| The translation is active and up to date |
| The translation request is awaiting processing |
| The translation is active but outdated due to changes in the original content. |
| An error occurred during the last translation process |
By default, translations are created as sub-pages of the source content. You can change the destination by selecting a different space and parent page.
Textual content Only: Lango translates only text. Images, videos, and other attachments are copied “as is” and need manual localization.
Third-Party Macros: Lango cannot translate third-party macros, which will be copied “as is” due to technical and security restrictions.
The management panel allows you to perform many operations on your translations. Here are some examples and tutorials:
Link existing pages as translations to enable navigation via switcher or macro. |
Synchronise translations after an update on the original content |
If you encounter issues, you can reset the translation settings. This operation removes all Lango links and settings but does not delete the pages.
